A note from our founder:
The Story of Sego Canada
Sego was born from two men with a vision of being in the water systems business as a wholesaler.
“SE” came from Dave Sebastian’s last name, and “GO” came from Paul Goulet’s last name. At the time we thought it was a catchy name — easy to remember, and not the usual sort of company name in this business.
As it happened, Paul didn’t end up entering the business, for a few personal reasons. The funds to register the name and find a warehouse in Calgary were already spent, so I went forward with the plan in 1975. With a lot of hard work — and a lot of customers I’d come to know over the years — things worked out. The very first order, ten Cornell sewage sump pumps, came from Smiley’s Pump Service in 1975. The rest is history.
My whole working life has been in pumping technology — from 1969 with a small Calgary satellite office handling Pleuger Pumps, to industrial sales manager at Electric Power & Equipment, before setting up Sego. It’s been quite a journey, and I wouldn’t trade it for any other career.

Sego has grown from a single location into a network of experienced pump, water and technical teams serving customers throughout Western Canada.
Much of that growth has come from bringing established local companies and experienced people together under the Sego Canada network. Rather than replacing the knowledge and relationships those teams built in their communities, Sego gives them access to broader engineering, sourcing, service and technical resources.
